A children’s book I read recently to two little girls。 Soooo cute, funny。 Loved it。 Great focus on the words and reading - but super silly。 👍👍

This is the funniest book for young kids who love crazy silly words。 Very interactive and fun for the reader and listeners。 Don't be surprised if your kids ask you to read it 10 more times。 This is the funniest book for young kids who love crazy silly words。 Very interactive and fun for the reader and listeners。 Don't be surprised if your kids ask you to read it 10 more times。 。。。more

I was in Target today looking for a specific book for my son。 The app said the store had the book, but it didn't。 I've tried three different Targets and none of them had it。 Saw this, picked it up, and read it in the store。 I like Novak。 This, obviously, was an easy read。 The humor appealed to me。Love how it teaches the power an author has with his words。 This is something I try to express to my students。A fun, light, but meaningful read。 I was in Target today looking for a specific book for my son。 The app said the store had the book, but it didn't。 I've tried three different Targets and none of them had it。 Saw this, picked it up, and read it in the store。 I like Novak。 This, obviously, was an easy read。 The humor appealed to me。Love how it teaches the power an author has with his words。 This is something I try to express to my students。A fun, light, but meaningful read。 。。。more

Johnathan,
The book has no pictures at all, but it makes a great book to read out loud and a fantastic storytime book。 The book is a good medium length book and kids love it。 It goes over even better with kids if the reader does funny voices when the book has you say something silly。

This book is something different than the average children's book, as it has no pictures。 However, even without pictured the story keeps kids engaged with colored text and made up words。 This story also introduces higher level vocabulary along with the fun text。 This book is something different than the average children's book, as it has no pictures。 However, even without pictured the story keeps kids engaged with colored text and made up words。 This story also introduces higher level vocabulary along with the fun text。 。。。more

As advertised, this book does not have any pictures and only consists of words。 Boring right? Fear not! This metafictive book utilizes silliness, parody, disorder, and chaos to engage and amuse the reader。 “The Book With No Pictures'' is unique because it is written to be read aloud almost exclusively。 What we would consider the “narrator” is actually the person that is reading the book aloud, and the “reader” or who is being addressed is intended to be the person who is being read to。 For example, one part says, “Here’s how books work: Everything the words say, the person who is reading the book has to say。” This book goes on to “make” the narrator say “This isn’t the kind of book I wanted to read!” It was so fun to read a book that is seemingly self-aware and comments on itself。 Although this book doesn’t have pictures, you almost forget because of the typographic experimentation。 The book begins with plain white pages with simple black text on the right hand page。 But, as the book progresses, the author plays with different sized text with different colors and fonts that make the person who is reading it aloud change their voice and pacing, which further engages the listener。 For a book with no pictures, it definitely painted pictures in my mind as I read it。 。。。more

This book is really silly。 It makes me laugh and I like the funny words which are used in the book。 It is not necessary that children need pictures in a book。 A book can also be without pictures and be interesting。

While yes, it has no pictures。 That doesn't stop the laughter from happening。 The children and I laughed at each page, well after the beginning。 Because Why would 4 year olds want to listen to a story with no pictures? Well they found out and were begging to have it read to them again。 While yes, it has no pictures。 That doesn't stop the laughter from happening。 The children and I laughed at each page, well after the beginning。 Because Why would 4 year olds want to listen to a story with no pictures? I absolutely love this book。 It is a post-modern story that, like the title says, has no pictures。 None。 However, the font used, the colors of the words, and the word choice present brings the story to life。 It makes the reader engage with the book and also with the person that they are reading to。 I can imagine reading this book to my niece and hearing her listen hysterically as I make silly noises。 I think this book is so fun and engaging and would be a fan favorite for many children, despite I absolutely love this book。 It is a post-modern story that, like the title says, has no pictures。 None。 However, the font used, the colors of the words, and the word choice present brings the story to life。 It makes the reader engage with the book and also with the person that they are reading to。 I can imagine reading this book to my niece and hearing her listen hysterically as I make silly noises。 I think this book is so fun and engaging and would be a fan favorite for many children, despite the fact that it has no pictures。 。。。more

This was such a great book for a postmodern reading! B。J。 Novak is a wonderful and very funny actor so him coming out with a postmodern book for children had to be great! And it is! It is a great book for the listeners and the reader to connect on a silly level and even without pictures it was great and the kids stayed intrigued。
